Let your machines communicate with each other
With BaSyx Enterprise – the asset administration shell management solution with AI support.
Asset administration shell – the cryptic name refers to the backbone of connecting machines and plants. Your greatest chance for data communication between machines and IT systems, and thus the starting point for any Industry 4.0 environment. And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be an expert. Thanks to AI, the process of creating asset administration shells can be automated.
BaSyx Enterprise - Asset Administration Shell Management
Verwaltungsschalen (AAS, eng.

Asset administration shell management made easy
The Designer is your assistant in creating and editing asset administration shells: It guides you through the creation of your asset administration shells step by step and already features standardized submodels, such as a Digital Nameplate, Handover Documentation, Carbon Footprint. You can either define your own submodels or easily tailor existing ones to your needs.
In combination with UGPT, the designer can create new asset administration shells from available information - such as data sheets - with AI support.
Perfect for working in a team: The central access allows for working in a team and enables the publication for internal and external use.
Your asset administration shells easily deployed
In the AAS-Hub of BaSyx Enterprise, your asset administration shells are distributed. You also gain access to a variety of defined and published asset administration shells.
As a user, you can easily integrate asset administration shells into your system environment, while producers have the possibility to provide their asset administration shells to their customers.
This platform serves as a bridge between producers and users, which enables the exchange and the distribution of asset administration shells.
Bidirectional exchange – including with SAP
The Generator of BaSyx Enterprise automates the creation of asset administration shells from your shop floor data.
Most recently, we have implemented the integration of BaSyx Enterprise with SAP, which allows for bidirectional data exchange.
The use of ODATA services from SAP expands the networking possibilities and thus enhances the data exchange between the systems.
Comprehensible data visualization
The Explorer allows for access to instantiated and active asset administration shells with the option to retrieve the submodels contained, display time series as a graph, for example, and start the asset’s services.

FAQ
Asset administration shells can be considered the digital identity card of machines and plants. They save important information and enable the communication between devices in one network. In short, they help improve the interaction between different systems. They save important information and enable the communication between devices in one network. In order to survive in an actual Industry 4.0 environment, assets have to be mapped using active Asset Administration Shells. These active Asset Administration Shells allow you
to map event- and message-driven processes and thus to actively communicate.
There are three main types of Asset Administration Shells::
- Type 1: These AAS provide basic information which are usually static, such as identification data and technical documentations of the asset. I Information is exchanged via file transfer.
- Type 2: These AAS contain more dynamic data, such as operating data and status information, which can change over time. Information is exchanged via an application programming interface (API).
- Type 3: These AAS are the most advanced and offer interactive functions, such as control and monitoring capabilities that allow for direct interaction with the asset. The assets communicate with each other autonomously using an Industry 4.0 language.
Submodels constitute the content of the asset administration shell. They describe content-related or functional aspects of an asset.
